[edit] Proposed merger

Proposed merge of all the middle schools that do not have any substantial non-directory content, that is:

Banting Middle School, Citadel Middle School, Como Lake Middle School,Hillcrest Middle School, Maillard Middle School, Maple Creek Middle School, Minnekhada Middle School, Pitt River Middle School, and Scott Creek Middle School
but not Kwayhquitlum Middle School , Montgomery Middle School, and Moody Middle School, which have at least some non-directory content.DGG 03:42, 9 April 2007 (UTC)

What's the benefit of this? You'll lose information for no benefit, and it's not as if someone won't come along some day and add information they see fit. Greg Salter 00:35, 19 June 2007 (UTC)

Articles should not even be started if there are no intellectually independent sources about their subjects. Wikipedia does not exist to repeat what a bunch of schools say on their own websites nor host random, unverifiable comments posted by people associated with the schools. cab (talk) 07:43, 23 January 2008 (UTC)
Ah, I see. So for example, I logged on today to add a note regarding the seismic upgrade issue at Meadowbrook Elementary School (complete with link to the newspaper's online story on it), only to find that the school is not notable enough. I guess adding a stub and calling for more info wasn't appropriate. Thank you for saving the rest of us from this icky, referenced information. Greg Salter (talk) 17:46, 9 February 2008 (UTC)
You start articles when you have multiple independent, reliable sources. If there's not enough such sources, you could restructure this article so that the information could be incorporated here (e.g. one section header per school, as had been done on some other school district articles). Or you could find another topic which does have enough sources and write an article about it. If you have a disagreement with WP:N, WP:V, WP:RS, WP:SELFPUB, bring it up on a policy talk page. cab (talk) 07:18, 20 February 2008 (UTC)
Hmm, so you are saying that pepole can't see the things happneing to their schools on Wikipedia Whats the point of deleting? is wiki going to run out of room? i doubt it. Wikipedia can host as many pages as needed for the schools of every individual district, people have that —Preceding unsigned comment added by 142.35.52.110 (talk) 18:28, 11 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Name

Although the name on the school district website lists the name as "School District 43 (Coquitlam)", I believe the Wikipedia page should generalized to School District 43 to reflect the entire Tri-City nature of the district. Greg Salter 00:56, 19 June 2007 (UTC)
