Schuylerville Stakes
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Schuylerville Stakes is an American race for Thoroughbred horses open to two-year-old fillies, it's set at a distance of six furlongs on the dirt track at Saratoga Race Course. A Grade III event, it offers a purse of $100,000. By tradition, the Schuylerville opens the Saratoga meet each year.
In 2005, the Schuylerville was downgraded from a Grade II to a Grade III. La Prevoyante won this race in 1972 and Cicada in 1961.
The Schuylerville will be in its 90th running in 2008.
