Schutz American School is located in the Schutz (Shods) neighborhood of Alexandria, Egypt; it was founded in 1924 for the children of missionaries working in Egypt, the Sudan, and Ethiopia, but has become an independent, nonsectarian, coeducational day school enrolling students from early childhood (age 3) through grade 12.
