Carl Schurz High School is a public school located at 3601 N. Milwaukee Avenue in Chicago, Illinois. Named for American Civil War General Carl Schurz, its school mascot is the bulldog.

The school building, which represents a combination of the Chicago and Prairie schools of architecture, was constructed in 1910 by Dwight H. Perkins and was designated as a Chicago Landmark on December 7, 1979.[1] It is considered one of "150 great places in Illinois" by the American Institute of Architects.[2] The AIA has described the school as Perkins' masterpiece, "an important example of early-twentieth century architecture, utilizing elements of both the Chicago and Prairie schools."[2]

Notable alumni of the school include biochemist Vincent du Vigneaud,[3] businessman Abram Nicholas Pritzker, CBS chairman William S. Paley, and Olympic gold medalist swimmer Sybil Bauer.[4]
