Schuberth Helme GmbH is a German producer of safety helmets.
The company was founded in the early 1920s in Braunschweig. Today, Schuberth has about 400 employees, and produces 1.5 million helmets per year. Schuberth also produces the motorcycle helmets that BMW supplies under their own name, and is the supplier of helmets to 65 armies. In Formula One, Schuberth has supplied helmets for Michael Schumacher, Ralf Schumacher, Nick Heidfeld, Felipe Massa, Kimi Räikkönen and Mark Webber, among others, with the Schuberth Formel 1-Racehelm RF1.
The company produces a number of motorcycle helmets that can be purchased openly by anyone, however the only helmets that the company makes for auto (car) racing, are primarily those used within Formula One, and none of these are available for open purchase by the general public.
Besides a range of different helmets, including helmets for firefighters and construction workers, Schuberth also produces personal protective equipment, such as facial protection and hearing protection.
Schuberth competes with high-end helmet brands such as AGV and Suomy of Italy and Japanese maker Arai and Shoei.
