The fishing schooner Delawana represented Canada in the first International Fishing Schooner Championship races in 1920. Captain of the Delawana during those races was Thomas Himmelman. On 11 October 1920, Delawana had defeated the Schooner Gilbert B. Walters sailed by Captain Angus Walters, when topmast of the Gilbert B. Walters broke during the race.
Schooner Delawana lost in two straight races to the Gloucester Fishing Schooner Esperanto under Capt. Marty Welch.
