School of the Woods

School of the Woods is an independent primary and secondary school located at 1321 Wirt Road in Hilshire Village, Texas, United States. While the school has a Houston address, the school is located in the city limits of Hilshire Village.

School of the Woods is a Kindergarten through 12th grade Montessori school.

Students from other private schools, such as Annunciation Orthodox School [1], sometimes matriculate to School of the Woods.

School of the Woods opened in 1962 [2]. The school was originally located on the Unitarian Fellowship Campus which occupied the 1321 Wirt Road address in the city of Hilshire Village. In 1975 the school acquired the property at 1321 Wirt Road.

Sherry Herron has been Head of the School since 1977.
