School of Environmental Studies
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
School of Environmental Studies (SES) could mean any of the several high schools, colleges, departments, institutes or universities that are imparting environmental education at the high school, undergraduate and postgraduate level.
Environmental Studies is an interdisciplinary field which includes Environmental Science.
Several such Schools of Environmental Studies exist throughout the world. The demand and creation of such schools is likely associated with the growing environmental concerns of global climate change, biodiversity loss, pollution and environmental sustainability. Universities are also adding such schools as institutes within their programs.
In Apple Valley, Minnesota an SES called simply the "School of Environmental Studies" has created the first model high school-level education based on an environmental curriculum.[1]
University of Delhi also harbours one such institution, School of Environmental Studies, under the leadership of an eminent Geologist.
