Scholars At Risk

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Scholars At Risk is based on the principle of academic freedom and it supports the freedom to pursue scholarship and research without discrimination, censorship, intimidation, or violence. It also helps academics facing risk to leave for safer countries. It was founded during a Human Rights Program in the University of Chicago in 1999. It has its headquarters in the Greenwich Village campus of New York University.

Rob Quinn is the director of Scholars at Risk.

There are currently five Fordham Law students interning at Scholars at Risk: Kate Belmont, Joe Cruz, Andrew Mercer, Mariella Soussou, and Diana Uhimov. They are doing research for the Global Academic Freedom Survey Project, a report on academic freedom around the world.
