SETIS, the Scholarly Electronic Text and Image Service[1], was established by the University of Sydney Library [2] in 1996 as a digital library platform to support and facilitate digital-based study and research. Since it was established SETIS has created the largest xml based and TEI (Text Encoding Initiative) encoded digital collection of Australian studies texts [3] . SETIS provides and manages the full-text collections for Austlit, the resource for Australian literature [4].
In 2006 SETIS was renamed the Sydney Electronic Text and Image Service as a foundation service of the University of Sydney Library's Sydney eScholarship initiative.
Sydney eScholarship [5]is an innovative set of services provided by the University Library to the University of Sydney [6] that integrates the management and curation of digital content with new forms of access and scholarly publication.
Sydney eScholarship also includes Sydney University Press [7], re-established as an innovative digital/print publisher. Sydney eScholarship repository [8], a DSpace institutional repository service Digital project analyst [9] services to support the development of sustainable digital projects at the University of Sydney
