Schneifel
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Schneifel is a name of the western part of the Eifel in Germany, near the Belgium border. The name derives from the German words Schnee (snow) and Eifel.
Winters in this medium mountainous region are unusually cold and snowy for western and parts of central Europe. As a result, winter sports take place here longer than the surrounding regions. The highest point of the Schneifel is the 697.3 meter Schwarze Mann (Black Man), which is also the third highest point of the Eifel range.
