Schmirn is a municipality in the district of Innsbruck-Land and is located 25 km southeast of Innsbruck in the middle of a valley with the same name, which is a side valley of the Wipptal. The village was mentioned as “Vallis Smurne” for the first time in 1249 and received its independence in 1811. It has 902 inhabitants.
