Schlock (film)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Schlock is a 1972 film, loosely based on a King Kong storyline about a gigantic ape. It was directed by John Landis, who starred as the title gorilla. The movie was notable for the early work of make-up artist Rick Baker. It opened in West Germany on 17 September, 1982 and in Hollywood in March of 1983.
Though the film was done on a very low budget and lacks quality[citation needed], Rick Baker's make-up was noted by producer Dino De Laurentiis, who cast Baker for the uncredited role of the authentic giant ape in De Laurentiis' remake of the 1933 King Kong.
