Schiebel is a company based in Vienna that is one of the most significant suppliers of mine detectors and is currently also producing helicopter UAVs, which are in use in the United Arab Emirates and have been used by the Austrian Interior Ministry in late 2006 for test purposes.

The company was founded in 1951 as a manufactorer of small electronic components, for example for washing machines, and started with the engineering of mine detectors in the mid 80s. It became enduring global market leader as producer of mine detectors since the US army placed an order of 18,000 detectors in the late 80s. Since the mid 90s, the company is also engaged with constructing UAVs. The company, which has its factory in Wiener Neustadt, employs about 150 people (2006) and has a turnover of about 10 million euros.
