Hello, I'm Will. I'm {{User:Sceptre/Age}} years old, and I come from somewhere near the towns of [[Huddersfield]] and [[Halifax, West Yorkshire|Halifax]] in [[England]]. My birthday is on [[3 March]], and I was born in [[1991]], which makes me a [[pisces (astrology)|piscean]] [[Sheep (zodiac)|sheep]]. My username comes from the ''[[The Adventures of Tintin|Tintin]]'' book ''[[King Ottokar's Sceptre]]'', a series of which I have been a lifelong fan.
 
I'm a native speaker of [[British English]], which is regrettably the only language I can speak without looking like an idiot. I know an odd smattering of [[French language|French]] and [[German language|German]], having taken (but not done particularly well) both subjects in my [[GCSE]]s.
 
I do have a sense of humour, however, it is rather [[Black comedy|off-colour]]. I often refer to [[popular culture]], like the [[Tenth Doctor]] from ''[[Doctor Who]]'', but with a personality more like the [[Ninth Doctor]] - I even have the [[Yorkshire dialect and accent|Northern accent]] because, after all, [[Rose (Doctor Who)|lots of planets have a north]]. But be warned, I am rather sarcastic or sneering at times, especially when I am annoyed. I'm normally very nice, though, but [[ethic of reciprocity|I won't be if you're not]].
 
I'm a fan of music, most notably bands such as [[Death Cab for Cutie]], [[Bright Eyes]], [[Sigur Rós]], [[Pink Floyd]] and 70s-era [[Genesis (band)|Genesis]], and such soundtrack composers such as [[Howard Shore]], [[Murray Gold]] and [[John Williams]]. My interests in television are mainly comedy, drama, and science fiction, such as ''[[Peep Show (TV)|Peep Show]]'', ''[[Heroes (TV series)|Heroes]]'' and ''[[Battlestar Galactica (re-imagining)|Battlestar Galactica]]'' My interest in films takes a similar vein, with movies like ''[[The Matrix]]'' and ''[[V for Vendetta]]''. With literature, I am a fan of [[fantasy]] novels, most notably  [[J.R.R. Tolkien]]'s writings such as ''[[The Lord of the Rings]]'' (which I also own on DVD).
 
My email provider is [[Gmail]] (and I have Google Talk), and my [[internet service provider|ISP]] is [[Orange SA|Orange]] (formerly [[Wanadoo]]). I contribute mostly using [[Mozilla Firefox]], but sometimes use [[Internet Explorer]] if I am in a public location. My computer runs [[Windows Vista Ultimate]].
