FAQs about my vandalism reverts
- Are you a bot? What software do you use?
- No. I'm a human being. I use the vandalism fighter Huggle.
- How do you edit so fast?
- It's a mixture of fast response and a good internet connection. My record for edits within a minute is 20 - one edit per three seconds.
- This edit you reverted wasn't vandalism! Why did you say it was?
- In most cases, it was. There are several reasons I may have reverted your reversion:
- I accidentally reverted instead of skipped your revision.
- Your past history indicates that you have a recent history of vandalism.
- Having a level 4 warning level, a report on AIV, or a block is automatic grounds for a reversion.
- You have been reverted on the same article recently.
- In some rare cases, if you revert vandalism just before I click "revert", you'll get the warning instead.
- Please remember that, as a human, I am fallible, and there may be mistakes from time to time.
- You restored vandalism by an IP!
- There's a simple reason why this happened. Sometimes, vandals vandalise an article, then change it back, like this. I normally symbolically revert them - it's wrong, and they should be warned against it. However, this is not a perfect process, and sometimes I do make a mistake.
- So what should I do?
- If I've reverted your edit and warned you, and you are convinced it is in error, undo my reversion and remove the warning, no strings attached. However, if you were vandalising and remove it to keep on doing so, please be advised that this is underhanded and will only swiften a block if you continue.
