[edit] Request for edit summary

Hi. I am a bot, and I am writing to you with a request. I would like to ask you, if possible, to use edit summaries a bit more often when you contribute. The reason an edit summary is important is because it allows your fellow contributors to understand what you changed; you can think of it as the "Subject:" line in an email. For your information, your current edit summary usage is 11% for major edits and 0% for minor edits. (Based on the last 150 major and 25 minor edits in the article namespace.)

This is just a suggestion, and I hope that I did not appear impolite. You do not need to reply to this message, but if you would like to give me feedback, you can do so at the feedback page. Thank you, and happy edits, Mathbot 19:00, 1 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Thanks!

Hey, I noticed your edits to Jack Van Impe and Robert Tilton and wanted to thank you for the information you added to those articles. I wrote those two articles in substantial part, but wasn't aware of any of the facts that you added, which were quite interesting. Thanks! - Jersyko·talk 19:04, 1 March 2006 (UTC)

You're welcome! Scarletsmith 19:08, 1 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Trauma: Life in the E.R.

When editing an article on Wikipedia there is a small field labelled "Edit summary" under the main edit-box. It looks like this:

Edit summary text box

The text written here will appear on the Recent changes page, in the page revision history, on the diff page, and in the watchlists of users who are watching that article. See m:Help:Edit summary for full information on this feature.

When you leave the edit summary blank, some of your edits could be mistaken for vandalism and may be reverted, so please always briefly summarize your edits, especially when you are making subtle but important changes, like changing dates or numbers. Thank you.

[edit] License tagging for Image:Bobandmaria.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Bobandmaria.jpg. Wikipedia gets hundreds of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 00:05, 12 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] A note about removing red links

Removing redlinks to people we will never have an article on is good but don't remove them if it is reasonable for us to eventually have an article about them. a) This lets people know that the article doesn't yet exist and b) if someone else happens to make an article about the person then the article is already linked there. [edit] Golden Plates

Sorry - my bad re the Typo summary - I should have noticed that there was another intervening edit. I'm going to leave it though, to see if one of the other editors agrees with your change - but I will post on the talk page. --Trödel 15:16, 23 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] 5 Men and a Limo

Hi Scarletsmith. You are off to such a great start on the article 5 Men and a Limo that it may qualify to appear on Wikipedia's Main Page under the Did you know... section. Appearing on the Main Page may help bring publicity and assistance to the article. However, there is a five day from article creation window for Did you know... nominations. Before five days pass from the date the article was created and if you haven't already done so, please consider nominating the article to appear on the Main Page by posting a nomination at Did you know suggestions. If you do nominate the article for DYK, please cross out the article name on the "Good" articles proposed by bot list. Again, great job on the article. -- Jreferee (Talk) 02:21, 4 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] 5 Men and a Limo

Updated DYK query On 9 July 2007, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article 5 Men and a Limo, which you created or substantially expanded. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the Did you know? talk page.

[edit] Deadliest Catch

Thanks for expanding the Deadliest Catch articles so much. Great work! =) -- Gogo Dodo 00:31, 27 July 2007 (UTC)

You're welcome! I love that show. Scarletsmith 00:33, 27 July 2007 (UTC)

Season 4 has started and I've written the summaries for the first two episodes. It would be great if you could contribute to the articles as you did for last season. -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 07:33, 16 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Replaceable fair use Image:Bobandmaria.jpg

Replaceable fair use

Thanks for uploading Image:Bobandmaria.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that fair use images which could be replaced by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted 7 days after this notification, per our Fair Use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. MER-C 10:30, 29 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Dennis DeYoung discussion

I'm sorry if I sounded insensitive to DeYoung's affliction, and in the interest of not pulling the discussion toward it and to remove an insensitive remark that was not called for, I removed my own quote about it and your response to it and I apologize for my remark. I wish you good luck on your own path to recovery.--Bamadude 01:43, 19 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Rhabdomyolysis

Thanks for your additions to rhabdomyolysis. When making contributions to medical articles, please adhere to WP:MEDMOS, which amongst other things recommends that drugs should be referred to by their generic names rather than brand names. I will probably make some other small changes to your addition, particularly with regard to the references. JFW | T@lk 21:31, 22 January 2008 (UTC)

I have looked at the evidence, and I think I disagree that rosuvastatin has a higher rate of rhabdomyolysis than other drugs. The FDA statement says as much. It would be a bit of a misrepresentation to say that just because it has a black box warning, Crestor is more evil than other statins.
I also removed the material on fluoroquinolones. The source that you used (personal reports from people in a non-peer reviewed survey) is probably unsuitable as per WP:RS. Searching PubMed for reports of rhabdomyolysis due to quinolones showed only a smattering of 2-3 cases for each member of the class - that is very low indeed. Let me know if you have any questions about this. JFW | T@lk 08:48, 23 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Wikipedia:Meetup/DC 4

Please note that there is a DC Meetup planned for May 17th at 5:00 p.m., though a place has not yet been set. You're receiving this notice because you posted to the page for the prior meetup - Wikipedia:Meetup/DC 3 - but haven't indicated whether or not you're interested in attending this one. (Apologies if in fact you have.) BetacommandBot (talk) 01:09, 5 May 2008 (UTC)
