[edit] Additional tips
Here's some extra tips to help you get around in the 'pedia!
- I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Though we all make goofy mistakes, here is what Wikipedia is not. If you have any questions or concerns, don't hesitate to see the help pages or add a question to the village pump. The Community Portal can also be very useful.
- If you want to play around with your new Wiki skills the Sandbox is for you.
- You can sign your name using three tildes (~). If you use four, you can add a datestamp too.
- You may want to add yourself to the new user log.
- If you ever think a page or image should be deleted, please list it at the votes for deletion page. There is also a votes for undeletion page if you want to retrieve something that you think should not have been deleted.
- If you're still entirely confused, or would like to get a better grasp of your wikipedia skills, and you have an IRC client (or don't mind getting one), check out the Bootcamp. It's not what it sounds like, but it is fun and can help you with your editing skills.
- If you're bored and want to find something to do, try the Random page button in the sidebar, or check out the Open Task message in the Community Portal.
- P.S. Feel free to leave a message on my talk page if you need help with anything or simply wish to say hello. :)

[edit] Thanks for working on articles
Hi! Thanks for helping to edit the articles about The Lion King. I appreciate your hard work.
Bye --Starionwolf 17:54, 17 May 2006 (UTC)
- Thank you. =D I live to serve the fandom. *laughs* Blue Phoenix 14:38, 5 June 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Kopa in TLK
Hi, the user Mrknowitman has been adding information about Kopa to the pages about The Lion King. This person thinks that Kopa is Vitani's mate. I have reverted Mrknowitman's posts, but you can revert my reversinos. Cheers. --Starionwolf 23:40, 20 May 2006 (UTC)
- Ditto the above, but he also claims that Simba is Kiara's mate, which would be rather odd on the part of Disney if that was true. If this happens to be a factual statement, feel free to revert my reversions as well. Thanks. --68.239.113.95 03:01, 21 May 2006 (UTC)
Sorry for the extra comment, but I'm also wondering whether it is verifiable to state the succession of Kovu/Kiara (also feel free to remove if you think it isn't). Thanks again --68.239.113.95 03:16, 21 May 2006 (UTC)
- Dear Madam, sorry to bother you again. The user Mrsanitazier keeps adding Kopa to The Lion King after you said that Kopa is not in the film cannon. Perhaps you should leave a kind note on his talk page. I posted a message as well. Also, he keeps removing text that you added in the article Kopa. I'll keep an eye on Mrsanitazier. Cheers. --Starionwolf 23:00, 4 June 2006 (UTC)
Hi, me again. I may have accidently reverted the page Kopa to the wrong version when I removed vandalism. Please look at that page and edit the page correctly. Bye --Starionwolf 22:23, 19 June 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Sorry for editing your post
Hi, I apologize for editing your post about the dubs in the international versions of The Lion King. I couldn't figure out what you were trying to say because my English is bad. Sorry --Starionwolf 00:54, 21 May 2006 (UTC)
- Perfectly alright. =) The sentence was a little strange, I admit. Blue Phoenix 14:38, 5 June 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Edit Summary
I have noted that you often edit without an edit summary. Please do your best to always fill in the summary field. This is considered an important guideline in Wikipedia. Even a short summary is better than no summary. An edit summary is even more important if you delete any text; otherwise, people may think you're being sneaky. Also, mentioning one change but not another one can be misleading to someone who finds the other one more important; add "and misc." to cover the other change(s). Thanks! --Starionwolf 17:24, 29 June 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Orphaned fair use image (Image:Sp02 040.JPG)
|
Thanks for uploading Image:Sp02 040.JPG. I notice the 'image' page currently specifies that the image can be used under a fair use license. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. —Bkell (talk) 21:34, 1 July 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Image tagging for Image:Hereticleaderhalo.JPG
Thanks for uploading Image:Hereticleaderhalo.JPG. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the source and creator of the image on the image's description page, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided source information for them as well.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:
This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 08:08, 19 October 2006 (UTC)
- Ack! It's not my image. I just uploaded a horrible "revised" version (everyone's a little bit n00bish sometimes), and have reverted it. I'll try my best. (Yes, I know replying to a bot is silly, but hey.) Blue Phoenix 11:22, 19 October 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Picture Request
Hi, this is Ben 10. I think we've communicated in the past, but I'm not really sure. Anyway, I notice you are a Disney fan. I recently started an article for Ronno from the movies Bambi and Bambi 2, and I think it would be nice with some pictures. But I've never been able to make the picture contribution system work (I'm not so good at using computers, and sometimes I have a hard time following written directions). Anyway, I was wondering if you'd be willing to help me out or direct me to someone who could. Ben 10 10:24, 18 November 2006 (UTC)
- Sure thing. I'll get right on it. Blue Phoenix 17:08, 18 November 2006 (UTC)
- Thanks. Great picture. Do you happen to have any of him as a grownup in the original movie? It would be nice to show him as he was first seen. Ben 10 10:26, 21 November 2006 (UTC)
- Good point! Uploading one now. Blue Phoenix 20:26, 21 November 2006 (UTC)
- Looks great, and it was exactly the one I was thinking of too! Thanks a bunch! By the way, I'm making plans for articles for a few other characters very soon. Want to help? Ben 10 16:02, 21 November 2006 (UTC)
- Certainly! Blue Phoenix 21:59, 21 November 2006 (UTC)
- Thanks! I'll keep you posted. Ben 10 17:34, 21 November 2006 (UTC)
- By the way, do you think a character article about Bambi would be a good idea or no? Ben 10 16:19, 23 November 2006 (UTC)
- I think so. He's a major character in two films and a book. We have articles for some The Lion King characters that are more obscure than that. I'd go ahead and create it. Blue Phoenix 20:04, 24 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Kenai article
Never mind about the previous request for now. If you'd rather skip it that's OK. I've just finished an article for Kenai from Brother Bear and Brother Bear 2. Feel free to provide input, amigo. Ben 10 12:55, 2 December 2006 (UTC)
- Hello. Did a couple of small re-writes, retitled the article to make it more specific and added an image of human Kenai. I don't have the Brother Bear 2 DVD so I can't add screenshots of that yet. Blue Phoenix 14:27, 2 December 2006 (UTC)
- Thanks. When you do add a screenshot from Brother Bear 2, may I suggest one of him as a bear? That way you'll kill two birds with one stone. Ben 10 9:47, 2 December 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Koda and Nita articles
P.S. Just finished an article for Koda. Nita on the way. Ben 10 15:28, 2 December 2006 (UTC)
- Nita complete. I know you can't add pictures yet, but when you get the chance I'd recommend one of her as a human and one of her as a bear, possibly from her wedding with Kenai. Ben 10 16:56, 2 December 2006 (UTC)
- Hiya. Got my Brother Bear 2 DVD today so I've going around adding more images to things. If I've missed anyone please let me know. Blue Phoenix 23:05, 19 December 2006 (UTC)

- Hey, I've been thinking. I have a list of articles I've originated on my page, and I've been thinking that you deserve co-author credit, or illusrator at least. Would you like that, or do you prefer your anonymity? Ben 10 17:23, 9 December 2006 (UTC)
- Hello. All I really did to the articles was Wikify them a bit and add images, but if you'd like to list me as co-author I wouldn't mind. :) Remember though that no article is really "owned", so to speak. Oh, and I'll get onto the missing images ASAP. December is an insanely busy month. Blue Phoenix 20:17, 10 December 2006 (UTC)
- I hear you, man. I've been going out of my mind trying to find a job so I can get some cash for Christmas shopping. Thanks again for the pictures. Ben 10 8:24, 11 December 2006 (UTC)
- Images in the Bambi (character) article are done. Blue Phoenix 17:52, 12 December 2006 (UTC)
- Thanks. Good pics! :) Sorry to keep you scrambling, but Thumper (Disney) and Flower (Disney) are done too. I think I'll give it a rest until after Christmas. Merry Christmas! Ben 10 16:22, 12 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Future projects
- P.S. In case you want a heads-up, I think the next couple of articles I make will be about the characters from Lady and the Tramp and Lady and the Tramp 2: Scamp's Adventure. Ben 10 16:27, 12 December 2006 (UTC)
I guess I should have asked first, but do you mind if I use some of your screenshots (from Bambi or Bambi II, for example) in the production of Userboxes? If it's a problem, I'll remove them immediately. Ben 10 1:40, 26 December 2006 (UTC)
- Don't mind at all. :) Blue Phoenix 20:28, 26 December 2006 (UTC)
I finished articles for Tramp (Lady and the Tramp), Lady (Lady and the Tramp), and Jock and Trusty. Scamp and Angel will probably follow soon. Ben 10 11:39 , 26 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] About The Lion King
Hey, Scalytail!
Let me say that I really appreciate your work on The Lion King's article. I have been trying to get it featured for nearly a year now, and I was wondering if you think it's safe to submit it again as of now. Let me know!
Thanks. PlatformerMastah 23:58, 1 February 2007 (UTC)
- I think so. There's not much else to add it and it reads well. I'd go for it. Blue Phoenix 16:05, 4 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] The Lion King featured article candidate
Hey there.
You probably already knew, but I put The Lion King article up for nomination last night, and it's getting opposed. If it's not too much trouble, could you look at the nomination and try to fix some of the issues they have? I'm doing my best to fix it myself, but I could use some help. Thanks a lot! PlatformerMastah 22:40, 5 February 2007 (UTC)
- Yep, I did a bit of editing to try and nuke some weasel words ("it is said. . ." and such) and I took out some unneeded full stops in image captions (surprised I never noticed them before, actually.) I'm having a really hard time finding good, solid references though (ones not from fansites) and I don't own any books regarding these subjects that I could try and refer to. Won't stop looking though. Blue Phoenix 16:11, 6 February 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks a lot! I know what you mean by finding references. Back in September, when I tried to get this article featured, I almost went crazy looking for books and websites that were reliable. I will do my best to get this article to featured status though. Also, I replaced an image that you removed, as the edited version looked odd on both Internet Explorer and Firefox, whereas the images together looked fine on both browsers. PlatformerMastah 20:01, 6 February 2007 (UTC)
- That's strange about the layout thing. The image I removed was covering up text in my browser (Firefox running on Mac OS 10.4.8 at 1680 x 1050), but it's covering up much less now, although it is still sitting oddly. Ah well, as long as it looks OK in the majority of browsers it's good. Blue Phoenix 14:34, 7 February 2007 (UTC)
- Hey, I don't like to have to ask this, but do you think you could post something on the nominations page? I haven't gotten any comments except that one objection, and I don't want this nomination to fail with only one view on it. Thanks. PlatformerMastah 14:44, 7 February 2007 (UTC)

I tried to include one of you pictures of Bambi in a Userbox, but it got removed due to liscence use or something. Do you think you could set up a version that's permitted for use in userboxes, or is it a matter beyond your control? Ben 10 12:26, 11 June 2007 (UTC)
- Sorry, it's out of my control since the copyright to the image isn't mine. Blue Phoenix 10:24, 21 June 2007 (UTC)
- Aw, man. And it was such a good picture too. Bummer. Hmm... hey, I've got an idea! I have a picture I made once of Bambi and Faline as fawns (it was for a Christmas thing, so they're wearing sleigh harnesses with bells). If I could scan it in and manage to figure out what I'm doing wrong with the picture submission system, do you think they'd let me do what I wanted with it because I drew it? Or would they say no because it uses copywritten characters? Ben 10 14:41, 24 July 2007 (UTC)

I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI 01:36, 7 August 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Orphaned non-free image (Image:Okami7.jpg)
Thanks for uploading Image:Okami7.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 05:06, 11 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use disputed for Image:Image:Final Fantasy VI - Edgar And Mash.ogg
Thanks for uploading Image:Image:Final Fantasy VI - Edgar And Mash.ogg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our Criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 07:14, 30 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:ScarSimbatlkob.jpg
Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:ScarSimbatlkob.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template.
[edit] Image:Lk_scene3211_500.jpg
I have tagged Image:Lk_scene3211_500.jpg as {{no rationale}}, because it does not provide a fair use rationale. If you believe the image to be acceptable for fair use according to Wikipedia policy, please provide a rationale explaining as much, in accordance with the fair use rationale guideline, on the image description page. Some examples can be found at Wikipedia:Use rationale examples. Please also consider using {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags/Non-free. Thank you. Rettetast (talk) 13:48, 12 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Replaceable fair use Image:Tlkcele-screen.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Tlkcele-screen.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the media description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template.
- On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.
If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per our non-free content policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Do you want to opt out of receiving this notice? (ESkog)(Talk) 15:29, 28 April 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for uploading Image:B000E0OF70.01. SCLZZZZZZZ .jpg. You've indicated that the image meets Wikipedia's criteria for non-free content, but there is no explanation of why it meets those criteria. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. If you have any questions, please post them at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions.
Thank you for your cooperation. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI (talk) 14:33, 21 May 2008 (UTC)
