[edit] A Word

This isn't the place to discuss how these books scared you. If you wish to start a thread about that, do it at a forum, not Wikipedia. Thank you.--SUIT 05:14, 21 December 2006 (UTC)

Can anyone else back me up on the books always smelling musty/rotted and being stained? Every copy I've ever seen either smells like urine/soil/rot or has grease stains on most of the pages, or both. Two people have backed me up on this claim. I'm pretty sure it's a coincidence, and just reflects how old the books are, but it's still a disturbing coincidence given the content of the books and the fear they've obviously driven into so many readers. -24.8.212.239 05:04, 17 February 2007 (UTC)

discusting and horrid pictures and adventures made up of gruesome and mutilating unnerving-surreal nature of beings and animals!

These books never failed to scare the living crap out of me when I was a kid. - Kraas

Horrible. There was a story in one of these about a child's severed head being served as a birthday cake. I read that when I was seven or so, and I haven't touched cake since.

oh yeah, seriously... I believe he went over-board with his series, how can a 7 year old read, heck, look at the illustrations in those books! They're disgusting, unnerving, horrid... still good though!

I had nightmares for 3 friggin months when I read these books! KinseyLOL 22:39, 5 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Traumatized

HHAHAHA, It seems that we've all been traumataized by this book.

I'd allways be affraid to flip a page and see one of those horrid pictures. I remember yelling once I saw one of the illustrations. I can't remember how old I was, mebbe 13! ah. . . I'm traumatazied forever. Heh.

At least I know how to kill a witch now. Anyone know where to find a black chestnut tree? --ComposerWannabe 00:57, 30 August 2006 (UTC)

I used to cry every time I flipped to the picture from 'Somebody Fell from Aloft'.

And I had nightmares about the coin lady too....... =( And the butcher man..... It scared the living shit out of me as a little kid.

This isn't a forum.--SUIT 01:43, 30 November 2006 (UTC)

Alright yeah the clinkity clink lady deeply disturbed me too but this isnt really the place to discuss that. Can anyone put up some references or something to a couple of stories like Me-Tie-doughty Walker (excuse spelling), because I do know that a lot of Schwartz's stories come from urban legends but he doesnt explain all in the notes. 68.108.153.118 22:44, 4 May 2007 (UTC)

Harold was the scariest of them most likely, it has a storyline to Chuckie. The most scariest of the illistration was the spider zit one... and comon suit, we can atleast have 1 of these -.-Dacheatcode 23:29, 25 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:ScaryStories.jpg

Image:ScaryStories.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
