Talk:Scared of Chaka

This page was speedy deleted earlier by Royboycrashfan with an A7 reason (non-notable biography / vanity about a person or persons that does not assert the notability of the subject). I write for a large punk music resource and I'd argue that Scared of Chaka had plenty of influence in the years that they were around. Also, members of the band have went on to join bands with much more prominence, so this band's article provides more background on that band as well. It certainly doesn't exist in a vacuum. --Avwhite 15:01, 4 June 2006 (UTC)
Yes! agree with Avwhite. Also I am wondering if there is an evidence that the name comes from the "surf culture" and Cali-culture hand-gesture "chaka" with the thumb and pinky out. What is that about? Can anyone give further info on this? Xsxex 18:26, 16 January 2007 (UTC)
pretty sure scared of chaka is a reference to the tv show land of the lost. chaka was the family's caveman pet or some shit. they even covered the theme song, it's on seven stories tall. scared of chaka was way too cool to have anything to do with lame surfer dudes. 208.103.184.237 01:23, 24 January 2007 (UTC)
