Scandoromany
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Scandoromany (or Scandoromani) is a form of the Romany language. It's currently spoken by the Norwegian and Swedish Travellers - a community of Roma people (also known as Gypsies) in Norway and Sweden.
Like Angloromany in Britain and Hispanoromany in Spain, Scandoromany draws upon a (now extinct) vocabulary of inflected Romany. The original Romany grammar, however, has been lost to the users, and they now communicate in Norwegian/Swedish grammar. Scandoromany must not be confused with the Rodi language.
In Norway, Scandoromany is referred to as Norwegian Romany, while in Sweden the same language is known as Resande Rommani (Traveller Romany).
