Scald (Russia)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Scald were a doom metal band from Yaroslavl, Russia. They played traditional style of doom metal with very epic edge. Their lyrics were based mostly on Viking war themes, which was not usual within the traditional scene of doom metal at that time. The band also liked to describe their music as "ancient doom metal". Although they had released only one album Will of Gods is Great Power, Scald remained as the most legendary doom metal act from Russia and have a cult following status in doom metal scene in their homeland[1]. After the death of their singer Agyl (September 6, 1997) remained members decided to end up Scald and later moved to form a folk metal band Tumulus.
