[edit] Features
The SBO XY features a variety of components. These are:
[edit] Pickups
The XY features two Humbucking Pickups[1]. These are:
- Bareknuckle Nail Bomb (Bridge)[2] - Bareknuckle site
- Fernandes Sustainer FSK-101 (Neck)[3] - Fernandes Sustainer online
The XY features a three-way pickup selector, allowing each pickup to be utilised individually or together. In addition the the pickup selector, the XY also features a 3-way Toggle Kill Switch (middle position functions as kill) which earths the signal from the pickups, cutting the sound.[4]
[edit] Integrated XY Pad
This is a simple XY Touch Pad, which can be connected to a Korg Kaoss Pad, through the built in D-Sub.[5] While there are no other uses for this XY Pad to date, it is suggested that future releases may be more versatile and should be able to connect to any MIDI device (such as lighting controllers).[citation needed]
[edit] Body & Neck
The body is based on the Epiphone Les Paul Special, while the Neck is based on the Fender telecaster. On the head of the neck, the guitar features the words "" under the tuning pegs.[citation needed]
[edit] Connecting the XY
Because of the integrated XY pad, the SBO XY had to feature some connectivity for the KP2. This meant that SBO Custom Guitars had to design some way of connecting the Pad. They did this through use of a HDD-Sub (15 pin) connector, which connects into the Modified KP2 (Available from SBO). On some models, the KP2 also connects to an SBOard, which features the 8 program buttons and a bypass switch.[6]
