[edit] Features
The SBO FX features a variety of components. These are:
[edit] Pickups
The FX features two Humbucking Pickups and a Special Midi Pickup[1]. These are:
- Bareknuckle Mississippi Queen(Bridge)[2] - Bareknuckle site
- Fernandes Sustainer FSK-401 (Neck)[3] - Fernandes Sustainer online
- Roland GK-3 Midi Pickup (Bridge)[4]
The FX, like the XY features a three-way pickup selector, allowing each pickup to be utilised individually or together. In addition the the pickup selector, the FX also features a 3-way Toggle Kill Switch (middle position functions as kill) which earths the signal from the pickups, cutting the sound.[5]
[edit] Integrated FX
The SBO FX features a variety of internal effects. These are:
- Z-Vex Fuzz Factory - allows the user to create squealing sounds, or simple distortion/overdrive. This effect can be bypassed by using the button on the front of the guitar.[6]
- MXR Phase 90 - allows the user to add the Phasing effect to the guitar's output sound. This effect can also be bypassed by using the button on the front of the guitar.[7]
- Unconfirmed use of Graph Tech Acoustic Saddles - creates an authentic acoustic guitar sound.[citation needed]
[edit] GK-3
The GK-3 Midi Pickup allows the user to convert the guitar's signal into a Midi signal, which can be output to a suitable pedal that will then allow the user to output any available Midi sound.[8]
[edit] Body & Neck
The whole guitar is based on the Fender telecaster. On the head of the neck, the guitar features the words "SBO FX" under the tuning pegs.[citation needed]
