Sayfol International School is an international school located next to Jalan Ampang, Ampang, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.[1] It was founded in 1986, and currently follows the GCE O Levels syllabus. The school takes in students of ages 4-18, of all nationalities. The school consists of a faculty of over 70 teachers. The school is developing and progressing very fast with a lot of students coming in every year. It is reputed to have one of the toughest examinations in Kuala Lumpur among other international schools but now it's known for its own range of costumes ranging from school shirt, pants, socks and school belts. The school, although sufficient academically, is lacking after school extra-curricular activities. There is absence of clubs such as the Science Club, Math Club, School Newspaper and so on. The school is also lacking proper facilities needed in the everyday running of a school, such as the library only containing a limited number of books which are only story books. The library also requires internet access for research purposes. The school also lacks proper laboratories, such as a physics lab and a biology lab.

The school offers Edexcel A Level. This program has so far failed to attain recognition due to the fact that it condenses a 2 year course into one year. There are options available for students, if they wish, to take the course in one and half years, as is common in Malaysia.

The school currently offers the following subjects[8]

[edit] Uniform

Students are required to wear a uniform that represents the school colours: Mustard Yellow shirt and Dark Green pants. Students are divided into four sport houses with respective colours

  • Clover (Red)
  • Marigold (Yellow)
  • Violet (Purple)
  • Shamrock (Green)

Prefects usually wear a white colour shirt with uniform Dark Green pants.

[edit] Sports and Extra Curricular Activities

Annually the school has a sports day. The secondary school does a march past as well as cheerleading routines and have their own marching band. There are sports events which include both track and field events. However these are never practiced due to the lack of a field in the actual school compound. The school also celebrates Hari Raya, Deepavali, Christmas and Chinese New Year, the major festivals of Malaysia.
