Panakkad Sayed Umerali SHihab Thangal is the vice president of Samastha Kerala Jam'iyyathul Ulama.

Sayed Umerali Shihab Thangal is the second son of Panakkad Pookkoya Thangal and brother of the Indian Union Muslim League president Panakkad Sayed Mohammedali Shihab Thangal.

Sayed Umerali Shihab Thangal is appointed as Qadi of Wynad district. Thangal is appointed as qadi of many local mahals in Kerala and currently he is the Chairman of Kerala Waqf Board.
