Sayansk (Russian: Сая́нск) is a town in Irkutsk Oblast, Russia, located on the Oka River (Angara River's basin) some 270 km northwest of Irkutsk. Population: 43,800 (2006 est.); 43,468 (2002 Census); 38,169 (1989 Census).
Sayansk was founded in 1970 as a settlement of the same name. It was granted urban-type settlement status in 1975 and then town status in 1985.
