Talk:Saw III/Archive 1
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Soundtrack
The Saw II article has a separate article for the soundtrack listing. Should we do the same with Saw III, or merge Saw II's soundtrack listing back into the main article? --KittyCollier 15:06, 6 November 2006 (UTC)
Amanda's envelope
Just wondering if any fans or Wikipedians have a clue as to what John left for his apprentice. The envelope apparently contained something important, as her reaction shows, but what exactly? If established and significant, it may warrant inclusion within the article. --AWF
Trivia
Where's the trivia section? Wikireaders wants trivias!
Plot Section
Why is the whole movie given away in the plot section? After some research, that whole section was taken from moviespoilers.com. Can we please get something more concise and less revealing?
- And make it less than 21 paragraphs? --KittyCollier 02:41, 30 October 2006 (UTC)

- The article as it stood was a recreation of deleted material, and also partially in violation of the copyright of the Internet Movie Database. Any future article should rely on verifiable sources and also respect the copyright of those sources. Physchim62 (talk) 14:31, 6 January 2006 (UTC)

Guy keeps Editing Saw 3
I keep trying to delete this guys edits on the Saw 3 page, he keeps posting false actors on purpose and then goes to IMDB and tells everyone about it. Lock the Saw 3 page or somthing.
Your talking about me, but I wasn't editing. I looked at Saw III at wikipedia and it said other actors names like kevin bacon or anne heche, I thought it was real, so I told imdb. But then they told me that you can edit on the page, so I didn't know. But alot of poeple are editing and I think thats dumb.
Hey! Guy up there (not the person who started "Guy keeps editing Saw 3")! Judging from your horrible grammatical and spelling mistakes, I don't think you should edit Wikipedia's articles at all.--david136a 10:48, 28 October 2006 (EST)
- Judging from your horrible inability to Assume Good Faith and your ability to Bite The Newcomers, you should not be on Wikipedia either. Just because the "Guy up there" made a mistake doesn't mean you should bite his head off. All he wanted to do was improve Wikipedia a little bit, just like you and I. I bet you scared him off now =( SuperDT 00:30, 18 November 2006 (UTC)
Producers & Cast
Gregg Hoffman has unfortunately passed, this last december. He will not be producing. The prodcers, who have been repeatedly deleted from here for some reason, are listed on IMDB for reference.
Also I cannot find anything confirming Shawnee Smith or Donnie Wahlberg will be in Saw III, seems to be just speculation at the moment. The rest of the info on this page is confirmed and referenced. --Fxer 05:12, 25 February 2006 (UTC)
Kevin Bacon?
On his wiki page [1] in his flmography list it has saw 3 listed. I haven't heard anything about this from anywhere!
- Just some simple vandalism, removed. --Fxer 16:52, 2 March 2006 (UTC)
Poster
Although I liked the three finger fan poster more than the current, neither of them is official as the darker one is just a copy of the earlier cover. I think we should keep it blank for now. Garglebutt / (talk) 09:13, 23 March 2006 (UTC)
I found the 3 finger picture at: http://www.joblo.com/arrow/index.php?id=2527 Its a fan poster, but with some truth behind the concept. So check it out, I just thought it seemed accurate enough. Lindsey8417 00:36, 24 March 2006 (UTC)
Sources?
Can someone please tell me where they found this information, notably the plot points concerning the warehouse and Amanda's betrayal of Jigsaw? I've searched all over and I can't find them, and I'm willing to bet they are just fan speculation.--CyberGhostface 00:09, 6 April 2006 (UTC)

Final instalment of the trilogy.
Carey Ewles does not make an appearance, although Leigh Whannel has said after much speculation that everyone will find out what happened to Dr. Gordon.
Donnie Wahlberg makes cameo appearance
The famous 'Saw' bathroom makes its final appearance and will be destroyed in a blaze.
The story focuses on four very different people that soon realise beneath they have very much in common. Making there way through the house of jigsaw, they must together complete four deadly death traps, little do they know they're not just fighting for each others life, but someone else’s. Twists and Turns commence as the sickest, most shocking movie of the year unravels the biggest 'Saw' secret of all that will alter the previous two movies in the biggest way imaginable.

CyberGhostface, you don't know it was Cigammagicwizard who called you that name and Cigammagicwizard what he says is true, the last time you agreed with somebody was when they said it would be partly set in Manchester and that Robert Carlyle would be in it, and he wouldn't touch this type of genre with a very large stick. Shawnee Smith's Quote Under Trivia
It says her quote says in other saw 3 news yaddah yaddah yaddah. Well, that doesn't sound like an exact quote from her, but from a news source. In no point in that quote does it sound a personal statement. Someone find the exact quote for the NC17 thing she talks about.
The Ice Shower
It says under the "Ice Shower" that the ice shower is a nod to Elizabeth Bathory. How is it a nod to Elizabeth Bathory?--Mullon 13:03, 25 September 2006 (UTC)
I quote from the Wikipedia article on Bathory:
Báthory used other methods of torture as well, often as punishments for servants who incurred her displeasure. Sticking pins under the fingernails of maids, covering young women in honey and leaving them to be stung to death by bees, or dousing naked victims in cold water during the harshest parts of the winter until they froze to death were among the tortures rumored to have taken place at her castle.

Trap Edits
I edited a few things involving the traps. A few were grammatical errors, but I completely erased the one about Lynn seeing the reverse bear-trap in action. It seemed out of place to me because we've already seen it, and because it's not actually being used on anyone.
I also changed the section about Troy's trap where it said "he pulls the rings through his skin by jerking them off". It just sounded sexual, lol.

Why was it rated for Nudity? Will the speculations of Amanda/John actually be true? Someone on IMDB keeps saying that there's this "great nasty sex scene". O_o I hope not. >.> Leave a note if you know of this rumor/can verify or falsify it. 65.248.224.93 17:33, 16 October 2006 (UTC)
- Erm...its probably in reference to the fact that one of the traps has a naked woman hanging from the ceiling has ice water being sprayed all over her.
- Not Jigsaw getting jiggy with it.

Twisting Crucifix -- Here's your chance
I just wanted to say before a flamewar or anything started: Open your friggin' eyes!
Whoever's reverting my edit from "the door with 'Here's your chance' written on it" to "the door with "face your fears" written on it", please just stop! On the source for the twisting crucifix (which has now been deleted) the door to the room apparently reads "Here's your chance". I also uploaded a screenshot of the trailer here, and you can clearly make out "re's" "ur" and "ce". It's obvious that "face your fears" uses no "re's" at all.
Thanks.

Anyone actually seen the movie yet? There are no sources for the deaths and spoilers. Personally, I'm reluctant to believe the latest info seeing as the movie hasn't been released yet (according to saw3.com) and the user who edited it was unregistered/not logged in.
Anyone else think it should be removed?

- I do. Even if the film had already been released, this article is bloated with excessive detail. There is no reason to go into such detail on the traps and manner of death of the characters. I think this article should mirror the ones for Saw and Saw II in terms of format and level of detail.---Jackel 14:51, 27 October 2006 (UTC)

Jigsaw's fate
I just finished watching this film, and John Kramer (better known as Jigsaw) most certainly dies at the end (his throat is slashed with a sawblade, and the collar around Dr. Denlon's neck explodes, indicating that John's pulse flatlined). Since Tobin Bell is apparently signed on for at least three more sequels, one has to wonder how Jigsaw will be woven into potential future plotlines. PhilShady 00:33, 28 October 2006 (UTC)
- Probably for one of those elaborate flashback scenes that's at the end of every Saw movie. I can imagine Saw IV having a ten-minute flashback

Remember, Danny Glover's character survived getting his neck slashed in the first film, maybe Kramer will pull out of it. Like, they reveal the puppet is really alive and he saves Kramer.
Grammar Police
I started tidying up the verbage in this article. I've made no effort to change content other than to increase readability and remove passive voice where possible. I've edited down to the end of Troy. If nobody has any objection to what I've done so far, I'll finish the rest up Saturday evening. I've read some objections to specific content, and I'm trying to stay out of that. If you think I'm stepping on your toes, feel free to revert. If you think what I've done is a positive step, so state - and I'll continue. Does it really mention anywhere that the man who killed Jeff's son Dylan , Timothy, was drunk when he hit the kid? When it shows a flashback, he hardly looks intoxicated as he cries and has a panic attack.Tayandre 19:05, 28 October 2006 (UTC)
That really confused me. And then Jigsaw claimed to be the one really responsible? (Unsigned post)
I remember a while back someone writing about a "trap" where a woman had to drive above a certain speed and around obstacles (her family members) while she was drugged/drunk. I think it was said that the clip would be on the DVD, maybe this is the real killer?

I've seen the movie and I agree with you, that the guy who killed Jeff's son did not look drunk. What Jigsaw was referring to at the end, is that he will be responsible for the death of Jeff's daughter, since he knows where she is held and Jeff has just slashed his throat, leaving her whereabouts a mystery. kc12286 00:10, 29 October 2006 (UTC)kc12286
Well, while I can hardly be considered a concrete source, I was pretty sure that the tape recorder in the box that Jeff woke up in actually mentioned the "drunk driver" in question. RedSkull619 04:31, 29 October 2006 (UTC)
- I recall Jigsaw informing Jeff that Tim was drunk. Also, Jigsaw claimed responsibility for the death of his CHILD. He didn't specify that he was talking about Jeff's son. I'm assuming he was talking about his daughter, whom Jigsaw has seemingly kidnapped, and left with a limited air supply.
- Yeah I wasn't saying, Tim wasn't drunk, I was just agreeing with Tayandre, that he didn't look drunk in the flashback sequence. Yes, Jigsaw does mention that he is responsible for the death of Jeff's child and then mentions that he has kidnapped the daughter.
A person doesn't have to be falling-down drunk to be impaired. We're never told just HOW drunk Timothy was at the time, how drunk he THOUGHT he was, or his blood/alcohol level. He might have just been slightly over the limit and only drunk enough to lose focus for a second or to have his reaction time slightly slowed, but that's all it really takes. I'm inclined to believe that, because it seems like he sobered up pretty quickly immediately following the accident.Intooblv 19:32, 16 November 2006 (UTC)
DVD release
do you know when a dvd release will be available?
- Wikipedia is no way associated with Twisted Pictures, Lionsgate or the people who distribute the Saw DVDs. My guess is about four-to-five months. Don't take my word on it though. The talk page is for discussing the article though, not questions on the articles topic. :-)--andrewI20Talk 08:42, 29 October 2006 (UTC)
i just wanted to enhance the article by adding the dvd release info. i heard that it will be released on 4 december this year but up to now, i found no reliable sources to cite and i was wondering if anyone can help me. didn't need a wiseguy-like answer.
December 4th? It probably won't even be out of most theaters yet! Also, please remember to assume good faith, and not risk starting something. RedSkull619 05:14, 1 November 2006 (UTC)
January 21 or 27. =D Yay! WhatTheFace? 14:02, 13 November 2006 (UTC)
Saw IV
Should we add something here about a Saw IV? It appears that it's quite possible that one will be made, according to some reports Mad Jack 19:34, 29 October 2006 (UTC)
-
- Could you show me these reports? I originally read that this would be the end. I'd say the ending of the movie pretty much justifies that it would be the end. X) --Smoke Rulz 22:24, 29 October 2006 (UTC)
It's assumed that it is coming out, because www.Saw4.com has already been registered. Also, LionsGate said so. And, Tobin Bell is signed on to 3 more sequels. D= But Whannel and Wan and Bousman won't be coming back. They already announced that. =D WhatTheFace? 19:25, 30 October 2006 (UTC)
Plot Clean-up
Well after reading the revisions of the plot since I added a longer one on the 27th, it looks a lot better. Is there anything that specifically needs clean up? Because if there isn't anything else anyone can point out, I'll remove the tag soon. -Lindsey8417 21:25, 29 October 2006 (UTC)
-
- I'd say it's pretty clean and expanded. I'm glad to see some of my errors that I missed were fixed since last night. I left the tag there just in case, but I think it's good enough to not warrant it anymore. --Smoke Rulz 22:25, 29 October 2006 (UTC)
-
- It's very precise. Too precise, in fact. A 22 paragraph synopsis is more fitting for a movie spoiler website, not Wikipedia. It needs to be trimmed, which is one of the conditions in the clean-up tag: if the plot section is overly long, it warrants the tag. Therefore, I'm putting it back up.
-
- Not that it isn't well-written. It is. It's just too long for Wikipedia. --KittyCollier 18:41, 30 October 2006 (UTC)
-
- Waaaay too long.--124.62.212.69 16:31, 2 November 2006 (UTC)

-
- A four-and-a-half-thousand-word plot summary for Saw III is a joke. The synopsis for Citizen Kane is four paragraphs.
-
-
- Hmm, true. It is quite wordy, and a bit too precise. I'd edit it myself, but I'm not exactly sure what's important and what's not. --Releeshan 19:22, 3 November 2006 (UTC)
That jar of "acid"
I've changed the references to the jar of "acid" in Kerry's trap to a "corrosive liquid" or just "liquid" later on. This is because the liquid was probably not an acid - if Amanda knew what she was doing (and I assume she does since Jigsaw trained her), she'd use an alkaline base, not an acid. Basic substances cause much more damage to flesh than acid substances.
Shadowlink1014 06:22, 31 October 2006 (UTC)
- I believe the dialogue in the tape said that it was an acid, but because I can't fully recall from nearly puking my guts out during that part, I'm going to leave it as is.--Dleav 14:08, 31 October 2006 (UTC)
- The information from the film said acid. Anything else is assumptions and original research.--CyberGhostface 20:28, 31 October 2006 (UTC)
Credits Song?
What was the song used in the credits? Not for addition to the article, just for personal interest. Jr W 23:12, 3 November 2006 (UTC)
Australian (OFLC) Rating
The film was rated MA15+ in Australia. Just thought someone might use that info. Jr W 23:12, 3 November 2006 (UTC)
