Sawa Defence Training Centre

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Sawa Defence Training Centre is a school where Eritrean youth from across the country must go to attend grades 11 and 12 of high school. In addition to academic subjects, students receive training in technical skills such as computers. In Eritrea, national service in the military or government service is mandatory. Due to a 'no peace, no war' situation with Ethiopia, most men and women in Eritrea are conscripted into national service. The training centre is located near the community of Sawa near the Eritrean border with Sudan, north of Badme.
