[edit] Reply: Extracting images from PDF

I just opened the PDF file directly. File > Open... then chose the PDF. A dialogue box comes up asking you what page you want to import. Hope this helps! Let me know --Tkgd2007 (talk) 19:24, 20 January 2008 (UTC)

Good question... I just looked in Illustrator and I don't see a trace feature either. However, you can make a rectangle that is the size you want the artboard to be... then, go to Object>Crop Area>Make. Thanks for asking the question though... honestly I didn't know how to do this either until about two seconds ago! I just found that feature in the menu :P --Tkgd2007 (talk) 22:45, 20 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Rollback

Hello Save-Me-Oprah, I have granted rollback rights to your account. The reason for this is that, after a review of some of your contributions, I can trust you to use rollback correctly by using it for its intended use of reverting vandalism: I do not believe you will abuse it by reverting good-faith edits or to revert-war. For information on rollback, see Wikipedia:New admin school/Rollback and Wikipedia:Rollback feature. If you do not want rollback, just let me know, and I'll remove it. Good luck. Acalamari 19:29, 16 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Image deletions

Hi Save-Me-Oprah! You tagged Image:Ciaraworldmusicawards.jpg for deletion under CSD-I4 here. However, that criterion requires the image to have been tagged with {{nsd}} and/or {{nld}} for at least seven days before it can be used. This image was only uploaded on 13 January, so can't possibly meet that requirement. I've tagged it so it now will.

Also, when tagging an image for speedy deletion, it helps to remove it from the article itself, even if you just comment it out using <!-- [original code here] Image removed - to be deleted under CSD-Ix --> This saves the person deleting the image from having to do it for you - useful when we're clearing a backlog! Thanks! ➔ REDVEЯS is standing in the dark 23:33, 16 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] AutoWikiBrowser

Hi,

Thanks for applying for AutoWikiBrowser. I have approved you, so you can get to work immediately (you can download it from here). Good luck!

[edit] Freddy Moore

Just a quick message to inform you that I've left a comment related to your COI report on the article's talk page. Cheers! Ayla (talk) 04:26, 27 January 2008 (UTC)

On a tongue-in-cheek note: are you a male chauvinist, or is the duplicate "This user is male" userbox on your user page accidental? Ayla (talk) 04:52, 27 January 2008 (UTC)
I left a further note on your report at WP:COIN#Freddy Moore. I suggest we close this. You are welcome to respond in the discussion there, of course. EdJohnston (talk) 07:34, 30 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Your user page

[edit] In future...

When uploading images in replace of an existing image, as you did with Image:Habbohomepage.png, please note that you should upload the image via the "Upload a new version of this file" link on the existing image, found at Image:Habbo_Homepage_Screenshot.png. This helps prevent duplicate copies of images, and limits the amount of non-free images not being used on articles. --(supermatique) » 12:36, 9 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] My Userbox

Hello, yes, i did make this user box, but i did check and found the following: "This is a scalable vector image of a copyrighted logo. All fair-use restrictions apply, but in particular this image should not be rendered any larger than is required for the purposes of identification and/or critical commentary. See Wikipedia:Logos." Thank You for your assistance. 18:05, 9 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Speedy deletion of Image:Target alternatecover.jpg

A tag has been placed on Image:Target alternatecover.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section I5 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an image which is not under a free license or in the public domain and it has not been used in any article for more than seven days.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Save-Me-Oprah(talk) 14:58, 11 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Orphaned non-free image (Image:Target alternatecover.jpg)

⚠
Thanks for uploading Image:Target alternatecover.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Woody (talk) 15:23, 11 February 2008 (UTC)

Ah, why didn't you say so... I have deleted it as author request. The orphan speedy delete is for images that haven't been used for seven days. Woody (talk) 16:32, 11 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Democratslogo.svg

I thought I fixed the problem with Image:Democratslogo.svg. You said that I didn't address the articles the image is used on, but I added a mention of all pages after your first notice. What is wrong with it now? —Marco Polo 23:53, 12 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Can you explain your reasoning?

Unless the guidelines have changed recently, Image:Crocker1.JPG falls under fair use. If there is an "i" I haven't dotted or a "t" needing to be crossed, let me know. Ichormosquito (talk) 03:31, 13 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Possibly unfree Image:Paula abdul.jpg

An image that you uploaded or altered, Image:Paula abdul.jpg, has been listed at Wikipedia:Possibly unfree images because its copyright status is disputed. If the image's copyright status cannot be verified, it may be deleted. You may find more information on the image description page. You are welcome to add comments to its entry at the discussion if you are interested in it not being deleted. Thank you. --Chris (talk) 08:07, 17 February 2008 (UTC)

Unfortunately I had to delete the image. In the future, if you would upload free images from Flickr at main_page, a bot or human can verify the free license at flickr, so even if they change the license, we can still keep it. Sorry for the trouble. MECUtalk 15:49, 28 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Question about Image:Hairspray Link and Tracy in Car.jpg

Instead of deleting Image:Hairspray Link and Tracy in Car.jpg outright, couldn't the image simply be removed from the Bouffant article for which there is no fair use rationale, but left for use in Hairspray (2007 film) for which there is a fair use rationale? —Mears man (talk) 06:00, 22 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Britney Spears's/Britney Spears'

I suggst just leaving it the way Oidia has it; technically either way is correct, though using just the comma is considered more 'tidy'. I was only editing in passing as it is, it makes no difference to me which way it is. I don't want to be responsible for starting an edit war or anything. [edit] Britney Spears FAC

Thank you so much for nominating the article for FAC. I look forward to assisting you in improving the article according to the reviews provided. However, stability may once again become an issue as so many disruptive edits were made followed by numerous reverts. Nevertheless it's always my goal to bring that article into FA status. Cheers! a month or two ago there was an small argument between you an another anon user of the main image of the Janet Jackson article. I took a look at Image:JanetJackson.jpg and I saw it has the same info as the current image. Do you know the exact reason the other user was claiming copyright violation? Bookkeeperoftheoccult (talk) 08:49, 6 April 2008 (UTC)

The new image is Definitely clearer, but it does not flatter Ms. Jackson at all! lol. Jeez artist like Gwen Stefani and Fergie has like 10 public domain images but we cant find a single decent full size shot of janet. I wish I was a reporter. thanks for the upload.
