PlainJane 12:49, 5 April 2006 (UTC) I have added information to this article and described the way the Savoy-Style/Hollywood-Style/Smooth-Style distinctions are largely out of date. I'd like to add some information about the Silver Shadows dance troupe (Frida Segerdahl, Skye Humphries, Todd Y, etc - all young lindy hoppers) and their recreation of lindy hop which is quite different to the Rhythm Hot Shots, yet is stilll very much African American lindy hop (or 'savoy' style). This discussion would also mention the reduction in bounce which is echoes historical lindy variations.

There is no 'smooth-style' article yet.

This is a first-draft of this article and will no doubt need editing.

[edit] Smooth / Hollywood

AFAOK, most people who say "smooth lindy" means pretty much the same as "Hollywood". To me it looks a bit odd to mention them as separate entities in the opening paragraph. // Habj 09:11, 23 May 2006 (UTC)

That is not actually the case in many local scenes - many dancers distinguish between the 'Hollywood' style lindy hop of films from teh 30sand 40s and the 'smooth style' which developed as a combination of/descendent of either Hollywood or Savoy style. The terms are, in any case, largely redundant now. PlainJane 08:19, 30 May 2006 (UTC)
