Savvas Houvartas

Savvas Houvartas, Greek: Σάββας Χουβαρτάς (b. 1968) is a Cypriot guitarist and songwriter. His compositions are influenced by jazz or rock, and are instrumental or with greek lyrics; overall are close to the mediterranean music; improvisation is another characteristic of his music. Since 2003 he has been presenting his music in various venues. In 2007 he performed his compositions at the Kypria Festival "Savvas Houvartas Ethnic Jazz Concert", the annual Festival of Performing Arts organized by the Cyprus Ministry of Education and Culture. His composition ‘Erimos’ (music and lyrics by Savvas Houvartas) from his personal CD-single ‘Acoustic’ was included in the Europavox Festival 2007 (France) compilation CD under the World Music category. Ηe lives in Limassol, Cyprus.
