Savignac-les-Églises is a village and commune of the Dordogne département, in southwestern France.
A long time ago, it was a monastery with few churches that have disappeared. Now the village is built along only one street as used in the Middle-Ages.
Not restored but authentic, with the river L'île and its sandbeach the place to be, before buying at the Butcher's delightful some homemade specialities whose recipes are transmitted from father to son: products of delicious pork meat to grill, sausages "les grillons", and patés, all "succulent" and guaranted. You can stop at the river bank and enjoy kayak, until Périgueux.
