Saver return

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The saver return is a type of train ticket used on British Railways (see National Rail).

[edit] Validity

The outbound ticket is valid after 9:30am and most return portions are valid on any train. There are some exceptions to this on busy routes out of London. The return journey can be made at any time within a month from the outward leg.

[edit] Misuse

On routes where the chance of there being a ticket inspector is low, commuters have been known to buy one saver return in each direction and keep reusing the return portion until either the ticket gets inspected and stamped, or the month expires.
