Save the Population is a Red Hot Chili Peppers' song from their 2003 Greatest Hits album. It was chosen with "Fortune Faded" for the compilation. The track itself is the last of the album.
Despite belief to the contrary, the song was never commercially released as a single. A CD single of the song was made and released in Japan and Spain, but at no point was the song eligible for the charts. The song is about the singer, Anthony Kiedis, asking his loved one to stay the night with him, so they can have a child of their own, hence the name 'Save the Population', meaning have a child to increase the population if it were to decrease.
