Savannah began their existence in December 2002 as the brainchild of Ryan "Junior" Kittlitz. He envisioned an ultra heavy band that would be equally at home playing hardcore and metal shows. More importantly, he wanted Savannah to tour extensively and as soon as possible. All of the members have strong roots in the Canadian hardcore and metal scenes. Junior provided the beats for Canadian hardcore legends Compromise, as well as a brief stint in Misery Signals. Guitarist Cam Kroetsch shares time currently between Savannah and [The Almighty Punchdrunk] (with Gene Hoglan of Strapping Young Lad), and Tenet (with SYL members, on Century Media). Robin Daley and Don Palmer from the Edmonton hardcore band Stronger Than Blood. Longtime friend of the group and former band mate of Cam's, guitarist Sean Colig formally of Vancouver's skatepunk veterans "Sideixtyseven" joined the group after Ricco Forester departed in September 2006.
Touring constantly throughout Canada and the US for the past 4 years has rewarded them with tours with bands like Hatebreed, Misery Signals, Shai Hulud, The Human Abstract, Sworn Enemy, 3 Inches of Blood, Shattered Realm, Figure Four, Death By Stereo, Death Angel and Strapping Young Lad.......who were all more than willing to have Savannah alongside on the road.
In the summer of 2004 the release "Hate Found Love Lost", their 3rd Demo, secured the legendary talent of Devin Townsend whose producer portfolio includes Lamb of God, GWAR, Misery Signals, Soilwork, Strapping Young Lad and Darkest Hour.In 2006 they recorded their first full length "The Road To..." again with Devin behind the wheel, In the summer of 2007 after months of touring, Savannah signed to a digital licencing deal with Distort Entertainment. A debut release is set to be out in the fall of 2007.
