[edit] Licensing
[edit] Primary licensing rationale
This image is in the public domain because its copyright has expired in the United States and those countries with a copyright term of no more than the life of the author plus 100 years. |
The creator of this work, Aubrey Beardsley, died in 1896; therefore the copyright status of this work is 'expired', inherantly putting this image into public domain. Jerry 02:58, 14 September 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Alternate licensing rationale
If expiration of the copyright is challenged, this image does still also fit the fair use criteria as used in the article Savoy (magazine), as explained in template 'Non-free magazine cover', as it is used to illustrate the magazine in an article containing critical commentary of the magazine itself, and no free use image can be obtained which could replace this purpose, which is vital to convey understanding of the subject of the article.
