Sautens is a municipality in the Imst district and is located 9 km southeast of Imst on the lower course of the Ötztaler Ache. The position of the village is sunny and protected from wind which means an especially mild climate. As a matter of fact the main source of income is agriculture (especially fruit culture). A part of the fruit becomes Schnapps.

Rumor has it that the name of the village has its origin in the roman age. Sautens was once connected with Oetz but became an own community in 1836. Nowadays the village becomes a tourism place more and more.
