Saussignac

Saussignac is a charming small village in the south of the Dordogne region of France. It is in the heart of Bergerac wine country and produces some of the best sweet white wines in France. It's pretty village centre has a superb restaurant Le Lion D'or as well as a Poste and Mairie.
The village is surrounded by several smaller communes each of which produce their own wines. A very pleasant few hours can be spent visiting the local chateaux who are always happy to guide you with a tasting of their reds, rose, dry and sweet whites.
The village has a small school and depot de pain. Several vinyards offer accommodation and the famous Chateau des Vigiers golf course has accommodation and two restaurants as well as their superb golf courses.
