Sauris (Zahre in the local Germanic language) is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Udine in the Italian region Friuli-Venezia Giulia, located about 120 km northwest of Trieste and about 60 km northwest of Udine. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 423 and an area of 41.4 km².[1]

The municipality of Sauris contains the frazioni (subdivisions, mainly villages and hamlets) Sàuris di Sotto (Sede Comunale), Sàuris di Sopra, Latéis, La Màina, and Field/Velt.

Sauris borders the following municipalities: Ampezzo, Forni di Sopra, Forni di Sotto, Ovaro, Prato Carnico, Vigo di Cadore.
