Saurav Ghosal

Saurav Ghosal became the first Indian ever to win the coveted British Junior Open U-19 Squash title, defeating Adel El Said of Egypt in the final at Sheffield, England. He was the # 1ranked junior in the world in 2004

Saurav moved to Chennai after completing his schooling and was based at the ICL squash academy in Chennai and coached by Maj (Rtd) Maniam and Cyrus Poncha in Chennai, India. Currently based in Leeds, he trains with Malcolm Willstrop. Saurav is the current Indian national champion defeating Gaurav Nandrajog at the recently concluded National Championships, 2006 in New Delhi. He current world ranking is no 41 (aug 2007). He won the bronze medal at the Asian Games 2006 Doha. Otters PSA 2006, Chenna 2007 were his PSA tournament wins and is the current British Universities champion.

He will be awarded the Arjuna Award by the President of India in August 2007.
