[edit] WikiProject Rugby League
Hi Sattlersjaw. I've noticed you've made an edit or two under South Sydney Rabbitohs, and I would like to extend an invitation for you to join WikiProject Rugby league if you'd like to. Basically what we do is organise rugby league articles in general, including standards for templates, styles and other entries, and in the future collaborating articles in order to get them to featured article status. There are no prerequisites for joining, and you don't even have to actively participate if you don't want to. But if you would like to join, just add your name to the list of participants and that's it. If you have any further questions just let me know on my talk page. Cheers, --mdmanser 04:14, 5 October 2006 (UTC) .
[edit] WPRL Article Improvement Drive
Hey I've noticed you're a regular on rugby league articles, particulary NRL ones. I need your advice on something I'm thinking of starting up on the project. Many WikiProjects have Article Improvement Drives which have different levels of success. I'm thinking of starting one up for this one too, but instead of voting on an article I would rather strive to improve one NRL club every fortnight and bring it up very close to featured status. Now it seems as though there'd be a lot of work involved, but there are also a lot of club fans out there who'd probably be willing to participate. Basically there are 30 weeks in the NRL season and there are 15 club pages that are not yet featured. I propose that we all have a schedule to work on one new article every second round, in alphabetical order. By the end of the season hopefully we will have 15 near-complete, if not complete articles. My only concern at this stage is the dedication of editors to help out other team pages that they are not interested in. Basically in order to get the support of editors like these, we need a few leaders in the project. If you are willing to dedicate a bit of your time every week into this and if you have any further suggestions, could you let me know at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Rugby league/Article improvement drive? Thanks, --15:07, 20 February 2007 (UTC)
[edit] 3 Rabbitohs
Hey Satts Greg Hawick, Chick Cowie and George Treweek figure in the 04 Dream Team but have no linked articles. I'm thinking this is a gap on the main club article. Do you have any inf on these players & I'll start a stub on each.Sticks66 06:21, 25 March 2007 (UTC)

Hey Satts, thanks for the info but then you went & beat me to it. Well done. I've linked all Dream Team players to that Article on the Souths Website. It seems that Bob Grant also doesn't have an article. Do you have anything on him ? Sticks66 12:54, 26 March 2007 (UTC)
- I've fixed the link and put some info up for Bob Grant.

[edit] re Ziggy Nisczcot
So what's the deal with this? You blanked it so I had to delete it as empty. Herostratus 13:47, 21 April 2007 (UTC)
- The surname was spelled incorrectly - subsequently set up a new page with the correctname. Not sure how to delete the blanked page.
Sattlersjaw 21:05, 21 April 2007 (UTC) Ah OK. You could have used the Move tab (Move means Rename). I deleted the old article. Herostratus 22:36, 21 April 2007 (UTC)
[edit] FA Nomination
Saw the question CumberlandsAshes81 asked this week re the Souths article and I was asking mdmanser same thing tonight. Have posted his response on the Souths article discussion page under FA Nomination. Would be interested in your view on his comments re the sub-sub-headers under Culture & TraditionSticks66 14:11, 21 April 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Style guide
Hi there, I have noticed you are creating articles for past NSW RL players. One point I would like to raise, is you are making your Sentence Headings In Leading Case Format. This is not in line with the style guide, in particular, WP:MSH - which says to just use "sentence case" the same as for article names.
So instead of Football Career - if we are discussing a footballer (without discussing non football life) it should just be Football career or even better Career (he's a footballer, football can be assumed as being his main career).Garrie 04:43, 26 April 2007 (UTC)
[edit] South Sydney Rabbitohs - FAC Material
Nice work fixing up the article and adding that long list of references. From what I can see, I believe the article is soon ready to be nominated to WP:FAC when you're ready. As the main contributor to the article, I believe it should be up to you to decide when to nominate it. I think we should immediately bypass Peer Review and Good Article as they have too much of a backlog to be useful these days. I can imagine there will be some opposition to how the page is presented at the moment (I'll change some things in the coming days to hopefully prevent some of that). I'll see if I can get the services of the copyeditor who helped with Sydney Roosters in its nomination. Post any comments at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Rugby league/Article improvement drive so they can be read by everyone on the Project. Cheers, mdmanser 15:30, 27 April 2007 (UTC)
Hey Satts really sorry (and disappointed) to see that the article has been opposed for FA. I didn't realise the proposal would only stay up to 10days before the opposers would rule. Well done on so much work that you have put into it for a while but so intensively and singlehandedly in recent the finessing stage. Where do we go from here ? Maybe mdmanser can give us some guidance Sticks66 14:38, 5 May 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Orphaned fair use image (Image:Brisbane Easts Tigers.jpg)
Thanks for uploading Image:Brisbane Easts Tigers.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 19:09, 11 May 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Rabbitohs Player Category
Hey Satts, an A class article it has ended up indeed thanks to all your hard work.
: I've just noticed that someone has created a Category: South Sydney Rabbitohs rugby league players and with only 35 articles linked there must be at least 25 more Souths player articles which aren't linked. I'll do what I can and link a few though, I'm sure that knowing this now you'll probably beat me to it. Sticks66 14:53, 19 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] John Quayle
Hey Satts, I'm thinking of doing an article on John Quayle the Roosters player and 80s/90s NSWRL administrator since his name comes up in some of these season articles we're doing. Do you have any games/stats/scoring data in one of those printed encyclopediae of yours ? -Sticks66 13:58, 6 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Souths GFs 1967 to 1970
Hey Satts, I'm lacking any source references to write decent match reports on the following Souths premierships NSWRL season 1967, NSWRL season 1968, NSWRL season 1969, NSWRL season 1970. I've uploaded what I've done to the Season Articles and wonder if you have the time or the inclination to add anything to the match reports which are currently rather brief ? Are you interested ? -Sticks66 10:50, 11 July 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Kangaroos_rugby_league.jpg
Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Kangaroos_rugby_league.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. BigrTex 22:48, 9 August 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Image:South_Sydney_Dream_Team.jpg
I have tagged Image:South_Sydney_Dream_Team.jpg as {{no rationale}}, because it does not provide a fair use rationale. If you believe the image to be acceptable for fair use according to Wikipedia policy, please provide a rationale explaining as much, in accordance with the fair use rationale guideline, on the image description page. Please also consider using {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. Thank you. BigrTex 22:51, 9 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Clive Churchill
Hey Satts, thought you'd want to know that we've found a bit of a problem with Clive Churchill. Apparently the comprehensive deatil that was there was wholly plagiarised from rl1908.com so it's been wiped meaning we're left with not much. Florrie and I will have a look at it due course, but you might want to get involved given your focus on all things myrtle and cardinal. -Sticks66 22:42, 24 February 2008 (UTC)
- Satts, My bet is that CC will be named in the Team of the Century tomorrow night. It's sad that the article is in such a poor state. I've made a start rebuilding but time is short now. Can you give us a hand ? -Sticks66 00:26, 16 April 2008 (UTC)
