Saturday Live (BBC Radio 4 show)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Saturday Live is an eclectic BBC Radio 4 show presented by Fi Glover. A controversial choice to take over the Saturday 9:00am slot on Radio Four, Saturday Live has become one of the most popular programmes on the network. The most recent RAJAR figures showed that it was listened to by a weekly audience of almost 1.8 million and was in the top twenty of most listened to non-BBC World Service programmes.

The style is unique to Radio 4, using a magazine format to combine real life stories, poetry and a studio guest who acts as Glover’s right hand man (or woman). Studio guest stars have included Arabella Weir, Will Self, Joan Bakewell, Brough Scott, Kirstie Allsop, Stella Duffy, etc.

In May 2008 the programme won Best UK Speech Programme at the annual Sony Radio Academy Awards
