Sathi Leelavathi is a Tamil language film starring Kamal Haasan & Ramesh Aravind. It is a rare film that does not focus on Kamal, and focuses on Arun (Aravind) as a philandering husband. Although married to Leelavathi (actress Kalpana), Arun embarks on a love affair the much younger, unmarried and attractive Priya (Heera Rajgopal). During a trip to Bangalore, he runs into an old friend, Dr. Shaktivel (Kamal Hassan). Owing to complications, he is forced to reveal his illicit affair to Shaktivel, who promises to keep it a secret. However, a video taken by Shakivel's son gives Leelavathi a hint that her husband is cheating on her. Through her detective-brother, she confirms her suspicions. Forcing Arun out of the house, she vows to end his relationship with Priya.

The movie, commonly labelled a comedy, lives up to this billing. However, Kalpana & Ramesh Aravind deliver compelling emotional performances, and Kamal Hassan & Kovai Sarala provide more-than-adequate laughs.
