Satellite tornado

A satellite tornado is the meteorological term for a small, weak tornado that forms next to a larger, primary tornado. The satellite tornado forms in the same mesocyclone as the primary tornado, but always remains independent from it. They are named for their ability to "orbit" the larger tornado.[1]
