Satanus is a recurring character from several comic strips appearing in the british comic 2000 A.D., primarily in creations by writer Pat Mills. He is a Tyrannosaurus Rex, killed in the prehistoric but brought back to life during Judge Dredd's time.
Satanus is the son of Old One Eye who killed him in the Cretaceous Period, but his first appearance was during "The Cursed Earth" epic which is set in the year 2100. His DNA had been found and he had been resurrected for the Dinosaur National Park. Unfortunately the Atomic Wars set the creatures loose.
He later re-appeared in Judge Dredd with a recurring storyline "Blood of Satanus" (a third instalment is due with John Hicklenton on art duties) as well as in Nemesis the Warlock Book V and even got his own eponymous story, "Satanus Unchained!"
[edit] Old One Eye
