Dear Kahlidkhoso

Hashim Shah (1735-1843) was a Punjabi writer and Sufi poet, best known for his story Sassi Punnun (or Sassi Pannu). In hashim's sassi the young child sassi is thrown into the chenab, Sassi is as much a part of Punjabi literary tradition as 'Sohni Mahiwal'(despite being not Sindhi) is part of Sindhi literary tradition. Sassi punnu is strictly a literary topic not political or historical. Though the names of places indicate the place where the legend originated. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 199.126.199.122 (talk) 02:43, 15 January 2008 (UTC)
