From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Greetings!
My name is Ryan, and it's my pleasure to welcome you, Sarfa, to Wikipedia! First of all, I'd like to thank you for joining the project, and contributing to articles and discussion. I hope you can continue to take part in Wikipedia, because we need more valuable editors like yourself.
If you are new and need some assistance, here are some great links to check out:
- The five pillars of Wikipedia are the primary goals and most important rules that we follow.
- These help pages are important if you'd like to learn more about specific processes.
- The tutorial is a hands-on approach to learning all about editing.
- For a "crash course" in editing, head on over to Redwolf24's Bootcamp!
- Writing a great article is a noble accomplishment. An article you start might end up on the Main Page!
- The Manual of style is an in-depth group of pages that will teach you how to make articles look their very best.
I hope you enjoy editing here, and being a Wikipedian! If you have any questions, find out where to ask a question or ask me on my talk page. Before I go, here's one more tip. When you post on talk pages, be sure to sign your name and the date by typing four tildes: ~~~~. That automatically generates your username and the date. Again, welcome, and happy editing! --King of All the Franks 00:13, 30 December 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Translation Request
Hi Sarfa,
I would like you to help me with translating some Japanese sources.
Background: The article I am actively doing on before I entered Wikibreak, Case Closed, has a current content dispute about a Japanese user (User:1523)'s insertion of a claim that a Japanese writer Yoshihiko Funazaki claimed the manga/anime Case Closed (or Detective Conan (名探偵コナン Meitantei Konan?)) plagiarized his own work, Picasso-kun no tantei note.
User:08albatross tried to meditate by producing this website for this matter-- but I don't know Japanese to understand this. I hope you can help with this, thanks! --Samuel CurtisShinichian-Hirokian-- TALK·CONTRIBS 15:46, 3 March 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Archiving tip
Since creating the step by step instructions on my User page, I have learned that if an archive is named "Archive1" (no space), a wiki bot will eventually come along and redirect the link to a page named "Archive 1" (with a space) so that all archive pages conform to this standard. An archive page named Archive1 (or 2, etc.) will still work, but you may want to monitor the history page of the archive to see when the bot visited and renamed it. You can then go into the source code of the current talk page and just add a space between Archive and 1 (then test in Preview to make sure everything works). I had to do this on the Psychokinesis Talk page, where I had named the archive pages "archive1" and "archive2." I changed them to "Archive 1" and "Archive 2." I've updated my instructions list on my User page. 5Q5 14:14, 29 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] WikiProject Japan taskforces
In order to encourage more participation, and to help people find a specific area in which they are more able to help out, we have organized taskforces at WikiProject Japan. Please visit the Participants page and update the list with the taskforces in which you wish to participate. Links to all the taskforces are found at the top of the list of participants.
Please let me know if you have any questions, and thank you for helping out! ···日本穣? · Talk to Nihonjoe 01:34, 8 August 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Inquiry/What articles?
Would you be interested in help expanding a series of Anime related articles? I need help from a Japanese speaking person to add material from Japanese sources. -- Cat chi? 17:41, 22 August 2007 (UTC)
- It would mostly depend on what articles you're hoping to expand. I'd be happy to help if it's an anime that I know something about, but I, unfortunately, don't have the time right now to read up from scratch about anime I've never heard of. Feel free to post a list of articles on my talk page and I'll let you know. Thanks! -Sarfa 23:41, 22 August 2007 (UTC)
- For now my focus is mostly for the articles on Oh My Goddess! (ああっ女神さまっ, Aa! Megami-sama!). More specifically articles on the featured list "List of Oh My Goddess episodes". I want to start with the article You're a Goddess?.
- A concern was raised that the articles in question did not have adequate out of universe material such as information on the production or information on the cultural references such as the reception it received. Information on ratings, awards a particular episode received would also be a helpful addition.
- If you could help perfect just one of the articles, I could use it as a metric for future reference. Of course I would more than welcome any additional help as well.
