I found the button for the internal link but don't see how to make a piped link.
I've searched the edit page, the instruction pages and my computer keyboard. I'm trying to create a new Wikipage.
Thanks.
- Hi there, sorry for the slow reply, the way to make a piped link is quite simply like this, [[Wikipedia|Wikipedia the free encyclopedia]], which will turn out like this, Wikipedia the free encyclopedia.(I just used wikipedia as an example) putting it even more simply, [[(article name)|{desired text for the link)]]. p.s., don't forget to sign you posts with the four tides(~~~~).--KerotanLeave Me a Message Have a nice day :) 09:52, 30 August 2007 (UTC)
- if you are talking about UNIX pipe link, I am at sea, because in Wiki terms a pipe link in the one I told you about, if you need to do external links its just [Insert non-formatted text here], so other than that I doubt I can help you unless I get my head around a few concepts.--KerotanLeave Me a Message Have a nice day :) 10:44, 30 August 2007 (UTC)
- ah I see, the | button is left of Z, while holding shift, if you don't have it, there is a button in the edit box under "wiki markup" next [].--KerotanLeave Me a Message Have a nice day :) 11:07, 30 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] re:another question
sorry about the slowness of my reply (3 hours-a snail could reply faster), I was rather busy, and only got the new message popup just a few seconds ago, you created British Cemtery Elvas did you not?, to get to it just type British Cemtery Elvas into search, the upload log is only for media files like pictures and sound clips. and i do notice that you spelt cemetery wrong in the title, which may be one of the reasons why you can't find it.--KerotanLeave Me a Message Have a nice day :) 13:03, 30 August 2007 (UTC)
- it has got a nice page move to the the correct spelling now.--KerotanLeave Me a Message Have a nice day :) 13:06, 30 August 2007 (UTC)
- the reason why you got a speedy delete message was because I got the old version of the page deleted (the one with the missing e in the article title, the page for British Cemetery Elvas still exists, as you can see by clicking on that link.--KerotanLeave Me a Message Have a nice day :) 13:34, 30 August 2007 (UTC)
- its no problem, I struggled with the wiki once, and now more or less I know some of the workings. anyway, you said you wanted to add a picture did you not?.--KerotanLeave Me a Message Have a nice day :) 14:13, 30 August 2007 (UTC)

I decided to give you this in recognition of your efforts in creating British Cemetery Elvas and persisting in your efforts to write the article despite your inexperience with Wikipedia. KerotanLeave Me a Message Have a nice day :) 14:55, 30 August 2007 (UTC) |
[edit] Re:Coordinates
I have little experience of coordinates on wikipedia as well, but I gave it my best shot, and they seem to be in the right place(its in Portugal at least! :) ), but if you could verify the location that would be great. check it here I will tell how I did it later when I have some more time.--KerotanLeave Me a Message Have a nice day :) 15:38, 31 August 2007 (UTC)
- It was quite simply actually, I stole this {{coor title dms|50|00|56|N|2|41|50|E|region:FR_type:city_source:enwiki-GNS}} from the Lochnagar mine page, and replaced it with {{coor title dms|38|52|59.62|N|07|09|41.62|W|region:Pu_type:city_source:enwiki-GNS}}, quite simply filling in the gaps with the new coordinates, and guessing that Portugal s 2 letter shortening would be Pu (I am not even sure that it is) and it seemed to do the trick.--KerotanLeave Me a Message Have a nice day :) 08:13, 2 September 2007 (UTC)
[edit] portugese wiki
- well your user account on this wiki for the english wiki only, because due to how the different language versions of wikipedia differ , a different account is needed for each one (it can be the same name). since all the pictures on the image are "free images", they could be uploaded to commons, and they can be on any wikipedia after that.--KerotanLeave Me a Message Have a nice day :) 03:24, 18 September 2007 (UTC)
