[edit] Salutin & Polley
A quick google search turned up nothing on her and Salutin, and simply because it's always "better safe than sorry", I'm going to ask you not to include the reference to anything romantic between them unless you can find some evidence. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Sherurcij (talk • contribs).
- I guess you will have to wait for the story to break in the media then...but for the record, or rather sub-record, I got it from a very reliable source who knows one of them personally very well and who also says Salutin actually gave Polley away at her wedding! ick. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Pixelverde (talk • contribs).
Wow! There's a real source. "A very reliable source who knows one of them personally very well...." You should be working for the Bush Administration! Office of Obfuscation. Seven years ago, I talked to Sarah and pissed off her boyfriend, who scared me away. Maybe I should post that!Persse O'Reilly (talk) 16:30, 8 December 2007 (UTC)
- Persse O'Reilly, please explain how your comments are constructive, and why a character attack upon Bush and his administration is warranted?--Rojerts (talk) 21:09, 9 December 2007 (UTC)
[edit] scare quotes?
Why is the word socialist in quotation marks under trivia? If she's described herself as such, I think we should leave them off. --Jfruh 17:51, 3 April 2006 (UTC)
- Agreed and done. Samaritan 18:18, 3 April 2006 (UTC)
- Agreed, but I don't like its inclusion as "trivia". It's not such an odd, peculiar thing to be a socialist that it is merely an item of "trivia". It should be mentioned in a paragraph discussing her policial views in general. --Saforrest 02:02, 2 December 2006 (UTC)
She lost some lingering baby teeth. You can find it in a Toronto Start Article
- We should remove "socialist" from the categories if there's not scource for it in the article.MonkeyBoy111 18:09, 11 June 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Queen's Park / teeth thing
Somebody put a {{cite}} tag on the bit about Polley getting her teeth knocked out at Queen's Park. I can't find a good reference for this, but it's been repeated often enough and in enough places that I'm confident it happened. --Saforrest 19:47, 24 June 2006 (UTC)
- Does this qualify as a source? The state of North American culture isn’t a small thing to Polley; she has been a vocal anti-globalization activist, famously losing some back teeth to police at a rally against the Ontario government as a teenager. Anchoress 20:08, 23 September 2006 (UTC)

- The CBC? Yes, I'd say that qualifies. Serpent-A 23:02, 23 September 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Gulf War
"Her disenchantment with Disney was rooted in an incident during the Gulf War, when she was invited by Disney to appear at a Children's Awards Show in Washington, DC. With the United States still engaged in the Gulf War," could this section be re-written to avoid redundancy? Boondigs 20:57, 19 August 2006 (UTC)
- - Agreed, done. Gwright86 00:16, 2 December 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Fair use photos
It is stretching the fair use rationale too far to say that you can't get another image of her as a child. First of all, taking that line of reasoning to its logical conclusion would make almost any image fair use. For example, if you find a coyprighted photo of her standing next to someone who is now deceased, you could argue that it's fair use because you can never get another photo with that person. Or if she's standing in front of the World Trade Center, you could argue that you'll never get another photo of her in front of the WTC because it no longer exists. Secondly, it is not necessarily true that there are not uncopyrighted or otherwise fair use photos of her as a child. She is a very public figure who has been photographed many times. [edit] What about Lantern Hill?
Sarah Polley also appeared in Sullivan's production of Lantern Hill. Why is it not included in her list of credits? Books199 20:43, 26 September 2007 (UTC)Books199
